The Taverners was saddened to hear about the recent passing of our Honorary Patron Brian Booth.
Booth represented Australia in 29 Tests and New South Wales in 93 first-class matches. He was also Australia’s 31st Test captain. Booth scored 1173 Test runs at an average of 42.21, with five centuries and a high score of 169. In 1982, Booth was awarded the MBE for “services to the community and sport”. He was inducted into the Cricket NSW Hall of Fame in 2014.
Booth remained involved in grassroots cricket following his retirement, primarily at St George CC where he has served as the club president and as a coach.
Rest in Peace.
