The Taverners extends our deepest condolences to the HRH Duke of Edinburgh

Commenting, David Gower, Lord’s Taverners President said: “His Royal Highness has been the Patron and 12th Man of the Lord’s Taverners throughout the 70-year history of our charity and was one of the first 100 members of the charity. His Royal Highness took a great interest in all aspects of our charitable activities and annually presented the Lord’s Taverners County Championship Trophy to the winning County for 43 consecutive years.

“As a charity we have been honoured by the support of such an enthusiastic and active Patron who has contributed so much to our efforts to enhance the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children over the past seven decades. His Royal Highness will be greatly missed as the longest serving Member of our charity, but we will hold very special memories of a very special Patron and many wonderful occasions which were graced by His Royal Highness’ presence.”
